Hollywood Sculpture Garden

Artist In Residence Program

About the program

The Hollywood Sculpture Garden has always been dedicated to furthering modern and contemporary art, and in this spirit, we have created our artist in residence program.  We provide artists with the facilities and materials at our disposal to create new sculptures in an environment supportive of the needs of their process. Our goal is to take away the usual roadblocks to creativity, like the tools and space needed to create, allowing the artist to engage in their expression unencumbered.

Details

The residency program offers artists access to our facilities and to our contacts and resources for needs that cannot be accomplished on site. We accept proposals for ideas for sculptures and other outdoor art that are already fleshed out, but we are open to working with artists who may yet be inspired by materials on hand to create. Residencies will result in an exhibition at Hollywood Sculpture Garden and promotion of the new piece.

This opportunity for residency allows for artists in residence to develop strong connections with the gallery, other artists working in the space, and the community of collectors and art lovers alike surrounding the Hollywood Sculpture Garden. The HSG staff members work closely with artists to arrange individual studio visits, facilitate research, liaise with media, develop connections and programs with the surrounding community, and generally provide a supportive and collaborative environment.

The residency is non-residential: no room/board is offered.
